Major League Soccer Launches QuickKicks Powered By Gotuit

Searchable Video Archive Presented With Gotuit For Third Consecutive Year

Woburn , MA - April 8, 2008 - Gotuit, the Video Metadata Company, today announced Major League Soccer has selected Gotuit to power QuickKicks, their broadband video portal at www.mlsnet.com/quickkicks, for the third consecutive year. MLS fans can use QuickKicks to easily search, navigate, and share all the 2008 game video with instant access to the game highlights, goals, saves, best runs, and their favorite player's plays.

"QuickKicks powered by Gotuit continues to be extremely popular with our fans and sponsors," said Major League Soccer President Mark Abbott. "Being able to navigate directly inside the game footage to the content the viewer is most interested in makes it a personalized and engaging video experience. This year, we are expanding QuickKicks with One-Touch playlists that will highlight Major League Soccer's top stars such as David Beckham throughout the season."

Key features of QuickKicks, powered by Gotuit, include:

  • Each televised game video, including the playoffs and championship, will be viewable online through several video playlists including Game Highlights, Goals, Saves, Best Runs, Set Pieces, and specific player highlights from two players on each team.
  • Deep video search capabilities across the entire library and within each game video.
  • Viral sharing features such as direct links and embeddable players down to individual plays.
  • New for 2008 is MLS QuickKicks One-Touch. One-Touch will focus on one star player from MLS Prime Time Thursday on ESPN2 and one star player from Saturday night action. Every play for that player will be presented for each game, allowing fans instant access and the ability to customize their own highlights packages for MLS stars.
  • Accessible directly at http://www.mlsnet.com/quickkicks/.

"We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Major League Soccer, as QuickKicks is one of the best examples of unleashing the full potential of a video library using metadata," said Mark Pascarella, CEO Gotuit. "Without the need for any video editing, MLS is able to surface their top plays and top players to drive audience engagement, session time, and monetization of their game video. Gotuit's patented technology makes this possible and helps MLS truly differentiate their video portal."
