Xtreme Outdoor Network (XON) was looking for a way to present and monetize their rich video archive of hunting, fishing, and other outdoor-related programming. Their goal was to create a unique Internet TV destination and a personalized viewing experience, rather than simply posting their original 30-60 minute episodes online or taking the time, manpower, and cost to cut their videos into consumable clips.
Using Gotuit’s patented metadata technology, all the scenes within each original video were defined, and then organized into compelling playlists that display scenes from inside one or more original videos. The result was XONtv.TV, a television network tailored for the broadband viewer with thirteen different channels, each dedicated to its own category of video such as Hunting, Fishing, Shooting, ATV, etc.
The flexible playlist organization within each channel allows viewers to watch full episodes in their original form, or playlists of just their favorite prey, method of hunting, location and more from across the full video library. Subscribers can now get quickly and easily to the video segments most interesting to them.
In total, XONtv.TV delivers hundreds of hours of fully indexed, searchable video, including the ability to search inside the videos, without any editing or clipping of the original videos.
Working with Gotuit, XON was able to package and present their existing video library in the most effective and compelling way for their audience, creating a superior user experience in just a matter of weeks.
