Gotuit scene-level metadata creates advertising inventory and virtual clips
for joint Brightcove and Gotuit customers
Woburn, MA - March 18, 2010 - Gotuit, the leading video metadata technology company, today announced that it has partnered with Brightcove, the leading online video platform, to enable joint Brightcove and Gotuit customers to leverage Gotuit's temporal, scene-level video metadata and unleash the full value of their online video archives. Gotuit also announced that it has joined the Brightcove Alliance, the company's global partner program.
"Now interested customers using the Brightcove platform can easily deploy Gotuit's premium metadata to enhance their video presentation and increase monetization while still enjoying Brightcove's market leading content management capabilities," said Mark Pascarella, Gotuit CEO. "It is critical to allow publishers to keep their video where it is and their video workflow intact, while augmenting it with our patented solution that delivers more visits, longer sessions, and increased revenue."
The partnership enables organizations to take advantage of the Gotuit Video Metadata Management System to author structured, temporal metadata and define the individual scenes within their source video, without any video editing. The scene boundaries function as the advertising inventory and scenes can be packaged and published into compelling playlists to drive user engagement. Each scene is characterized with a Title, Description, Thumbnail, Start Time, End Time, and any defined Tags/Attributes such as Location, Talent, Character, Team, etc. so they can function as virtual clips with direct links for viral sharing and with embeddable player code for social media sites. The scene definitions also produce improved video search, better related video results and more useful feeds for syndication.
"We are pleased to add Gotuit to the fast-growing Brightcove Alliance partner program, which provides a wide range of value-added solutions and services to our customers around the world," Chris Johnston, Director of Technology Partnerships, Brightcove. "Gotuit's video metadata solution is an ideal fit for publishers focused on delivering a better viewing experience and realizing a greater return from their video."
