Woburn, Mass – October 22, 2007 – Gotuit, a leading provider of video discovery, navigation, and monetization technologies, today announced that its flagship product Gotuit PowerVideo Suite™ has been awarded Streaming Media Magazine’s 2007 Reader’s Choice Award for “Best Search and Indexing Platform.”.

Response to the first annual Streaming Media Readers’ Choice Awards exceeded all expectations. A total of 92 companies submitted almost 120 products and services (or were nominated by customers or others in the industry), and when all was said and done, more than 3,000 readers of Streaming Media magazine and StreamingMedia.com logged their votes.

“Winning with online video requires more than just making content available. Video must be organized and presented in a fashion that makes it simple and easy for consumers to find what they want; more importantly, that video must be capable of delivering relevant, highly-targeted advertising.” said Mark Pascarella, CEO of Gotuit. “Our patented indexing technology has proven to address these demands, which ultimately makes it more profitable for publishers monetizing their content libraries. Being recognized by the industry experts that read Streaming Media as having the best technology to address the critical issue of video discovery is a real honor.”

Winners were announced at www.streamingmedia.com on October 19, and in the October/November issue of Streaming Media magazine. As part of this year’s Streaming Media West show, awards will be presented to the winners at the Streaming Media Readers’ Choice Awards Reception Party at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 7, at the Grande Ballroom of the St. Clair Hotel in San Jose. The reception will be open to full conference attendees, speakers, exhibitors, and the press, as well as to the winners.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for us to acknowledge not just the winners of these awards but the continued growth and vitality of the streaming media industry,” says Streaming Media editor Eric Schumacher-Rasmussen. “The winners exemplify technological and business innovation, as well as outstanding customer service and brand messaging. I think the fact that the winners were chosen by end users makes them all the more meaningful.”

Searchable Video Archive Of NCAA's Greatest Football Rivalries

Woburn, Mass - October 10, 2007 - Gotuit, a leading provider of video discovery, navigation, and monetization technologies, today announced Time Inc.’s Sports Illustrated has expanded its relationship with Gotuit to power their broadband video destination focused on college football’s twenty-five greatest rivalries.  College Football’s Greatest Rivalries provides viewers with a unique view of classic adversaries such as Ohio State – Michigan, Alabama – Auburn, and Army – Navy.

“College football fans, known for their passion and dedication, have an almost insatiable desire to follow their teams,” said Stacey Vollman, VP/General Manager, SI.com.  “We have designed College Football’s Greatest Rivalries to allow them to easily watch the defining moments in college football, and share them with their friends and fellow alumni.  This is an important part of Sports Illustrated’s coverage of the 2007 college football season.”

Key features of College Football's Greatest Rivalries on SI.com, powered by Gotuit, include:

  • Video highlights of the top 25 NCAA football rivalries accessible by rivalry, conference, team, or best game
  • Highlights from games as early as the 1950s up to 2006
  • Deep video search and navigation capabilities across the entire video library

“This is another great example of the benefits of wrapping a video archive with rich metadata,” said Dan Gill, Vice President of Business Development for Gotuit. “By providing multiple paths for the viewer to take through the library, and using the Gotuit advertising logic that optimizes the amount of video ads served, SI will enjoy longer session times and better content monetization than competing video sites.”

Available through SI.com and SIKIDS.com, College Football’s Greatest Rivalries is free to all visitors and is supported by targeted video advertising.

Future To Include Contest For Best User-Remixed Video

Woburn, MA - October 3, 2007

Capitol Records Nashville, part of EMI, the world's largest independent music company, and Gotuit (http://www.gotuit.com), a leading provider of next generation video discovery and monetization technologies, today announced Luke Bryan Remixed (http://remix.lukebryan.com) – an expansion of Luke Bryan's official MySpace site (http://www.myspace.com/lukebryan) – where fans of this country music recording artist can watch and remix his hit single "All My Friends Say" from the original music video, live concert footage, interviews and other video content.   Luke Bryan Remixed is free to all visitors.

"Luke Bryan is always looking for more ways to entertain and engage his fans, and Luke Bryan Remixed is the next step to allow his fans to create authorized remixes," said Capitol Records Nashville Director of New Media, Dawn Gates. 'All My Friends Say' is the smash hit from his debut album I’ll Stay Me, and we are excited to see how the fans remix their favorite scenes to create their own versions of the music video, and then embed them across the web.  We are already planning for a “Best User-Generated Remix Contest,” to take the concept to the next level when the second single “We Rode In Trucks” goes for airplay in October.  This will drive an even deeper connection between Luke and his fans.”

Powered by the Gotuit PowerVideo Suite™, Luke Bryan fans can choose pre-defined scenes or define their own from the original "All My Friends Say" music video, live concert footage and behind the scenes interviews, then arrange them to produce their own music video experience.  Luke Bryan fans can also watch the music video and live concert footage in their original form.

"Luke Bryan Remixed defines the cutting edge of video remixes," said Gotuit CEO Mark Pascarella.  "By using Gotuit VideoMixer™ each remix is actually a new metadata set.  The viewer is only 'virtually' editing the video.  The patented Gotuit technology never alters the original source videos, but instead uses metadata to jump inside the videos from scene to scene.  The result is a terrific video experience that is highly scalable to millions of remixes from the same original source videos."
