Dan Nova

Dan joined Highland in 1996 as a General Partner to establish and build the firm’s internet investment practice. He also co-founded the Highland Consumer Fund, where he is Chair of the Investment Committee, and he is leading the firm’s expansion efforts into China.

He continues to be an active investor focusing on technology and consumer investments with specific experience and interest in internet, digital marketing and media technologies. Dan led the firm’s investments and has served on the boards of a number of successful companies including Ask Jeeves - IPO, Be Free - IPO, eToys - IPO, Fastclick - IPO, acquired by ValueClick, Gamesville - acquired by Lycos, MapQuest.com - IPO, acquired by AOL, N2 Broadband - acquired by TANDBERG Television, Navic Networks - acquired by MicroSoft, New York Times Digital - acquired by New York Times, Co., Quote.com - acquired by Lycos, Raindance Communications - IPO and RoweCom - IPO.

His current portfolio includes CMI Marketing, Coremetrics, Gotuit, Qihoo, StyleFeeder, TriStar Investors, UUSee and Yoga Works. Dan has been recognized by the prestigious Forbes Midas List as one of the top venture capitalists in the industry.

Prior to joining Highland in 1996, Dan was a Partner at CMG@Ventures where he co-led the partnership's investment activities in early-stage internet companies. While at CMG@Ventures, Dan co-founded Lycos, Inc. in June of 1995, and played an integral role from its inception to its IPO in April of 1996 and finally through its sale to Terra Networks in 2000.

Prior to joining CMG@Ventures Dan was a Senior Associate at Summit Partners focused on later-stage technology and environmental investments. He also worked at Wang Laboratories from 1983 through 1989 in a variety of sales management and sales positions.

Dan holds a BS in Computer Science and Marketing from Boston College an MBA from Harvard Business School.

John F. Gault

John F. Gault has over forty years of experience in the cable industry ranging from management, executive management, and board advisory roles in industry, to teaching and activist leadership positions. John began his career as an Operation’s Manager at Teleprompter. In 1964, became the first VP of Operations of T.V.C., which ultimately became Warner Cable.

Also in 1964, John was named President of Continental Cable, a division of Vikoa. In 1970, John was named VP of Marketing of American Television Communications Corporation (ATC); for nine years he managed both line operations and many of the franchise activities of the company. In 1979, he was named President of Manhattan Cable Television, a division of Time Inc. and the nation's largest single-franchised urban cable system. He was also responsible for the franchising, construction and management of ATC's Queens Cable system as well as Paragon Cable in Northern Manhattan.

In 1986, he was named Executive VP of ATC Corporation, now Time Warner Cable. In September of 1989, as Executive VP, John was responsible for nine Time Warner Cable operating divisions. He was named Executive VP of Strategic Planning for Time Warner Cable from March 1998 thru his retirement from Time Warner Cable in November 1999.

John is also an active participant in cable industry affairs, having served as chairman of the New York State Cable Television Association from 1983 through 1988 and as chairman of the Utility Relations and Ethics Committee of the National Cable Television Association. He also spent ten years as an adjunct professor for New York University’s inter-active telecommunications Masters Degree program and, from 1995-1999, as Chairman of CTAM Education Foundation.

In is current position John serves on several boards including: Commission Junction (Board of Advisors), Central Florida Cable Communications (Chairman), EGT (Senior Advisor), Narad Networks (Advisory Board), NCUBE (Advisory Board), Gotuit (Board of Directors), Go-Net Networks Israel (Board of Directors), and Metropolitan Cable Communications (Board of Directors).

John is also a recipient of the NCTA's prestigious Vanguard award for State and Regional Association Leadership.

Michael Collette

In August of 2009, Michael Collette joined FHTML as CEO. A seasoned startup CEO and media technology expert, Collette was previously CEO of Ucentric Systems, which pioneered the multiroom DVR market and was sold to Motorola in 2005. He then ran PhyFlex networks, a broadband infrastructure company, which was sold to Ciena.

Previously, Collette served as SVP Marketing and Business Development for OpenTV, a publicly traded company that is the market leading provider of middleware and Interactive Television authoring platforms for cable and satellite. Prior to joining FHTML, Collette was Managing Director of MediaTech Strategies where he provided strategic consulting services to Google (IPTV strategy), Extend Media (CMS services for Over The Top media), and Gotuit Media (video metadata), among others.

Mark Pascarella

Mark Pascarella is President & CEO. As one of Gotuit's founding investors, Mark has been a member of the company's Board of Directors since inception and joined Gotuit full-time in 2001. Under Pascarella's direction, Gotuit has pioneered video discovery / monetization and has become the leading provider of next-generation video products for multiple platforms including broadband, mobile, and cable.

Before joining Gotuit, Pascarella teamed up with Sidney Topol, the former Chairman and CEO of Scientific-Atlanta (Cisco), to found The Topol Group, an early-stage investment firm. In addition to Gotuit, The Topol Group's investments include broadband router manufacturer RiverDelta Networks (Motorola), cable services provider Navic Networks, and VoIP switch maker Cedar Point Communications. From 1992 to 1997, Pascarella worked in Business Development at Procter & Gamble.

He holds a BS in Management from Bucknell University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
